    • 2A: New Hampton 1st-place .. Dike-New Hartford 5th-place – Morgan Weber of DNH won the 2A individual title with a 2-round total of 147.

  • The Chicago Cubs defeated the Astros 2-1 last night on the strength of eight strong innings from Kyle Hendricks and home runs from Kyle Schwarber and Kris Bryant.   • Former Iowa standout Nate Kaeding has been named the Minnesota Vikings new kicking coach. Kaeding’s NFL career last from 2004 to 2012, and when he retired he was the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history with an 86-percent field goal percentage. CLICK HERE for the story.

  • ICYMI: Penn State guard Rasir Bolton announced on his Twitter account that he’s transferring to Iowa State. Bolton is entering his sophomore season and was a key player for the Nittany Lions averaging 11.6 points per game as a freshman.
