Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry and Oakridge Realtors Presented Donation to conclude Coloff Media’s 2018-19 Points for a Purpose Campaign
WATERLOO — Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry and Oakridge Realtors presented the Boys and Girls Club of the Cedar Valley with a donation of $4,016.25 Thursday afternoon at the Boys and Girls Club’s main offices in Waterloo.
The check presentation concluded the second season of the Points for a Purpose Campaign, an effort ran in conjunction with Cruisin’ KCFI radio’s (1250 AM and 105.1 FM) play-by-play broadcasts and coverage of Cedar Falls High School athletics during the 2018-19 sports season. Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry and Oakridge Realtors sponsored this year’s campaign and pledged to collectively donate $1.25 for every point the Cedar Falls Tigers scored in varsity football, girls’ basketball and boys’ basketball during the 2018-19 campaign.
These are the main varsity sports carried by Coloff Media’s Cruisin’ KCFI. For the second year in a row, Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry pledged a donation of $1 per point scored while Oakridge Realtors pledged a donation of $0.25 per point scored by the Tigers this past year.
The Cedar Falls Tigers had an exceptional scoring season in 2018-19 across the three varsity sports, combining for 3,213 points. The Tigers’ football team ended the year with a state runner-up finish, their girls’ basketball team made it to the sub-state championship game, and their boys’ basketball program repeated as the state champions of Class 4A. Ryan Schultz, boys’ basketball head coach, represented the Cedar Falls Athletic Department at the donation event.
Coloff Media has carried Cedar Falls Tigers athletics, as well as many other local sports broadcasts since 1995. Currently Cruisin’ KCFI (1250 AM & 105.1 FM) broadcasts regular season Tiger varsity football, girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball, and other Tiger sports during the postseason.
