On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Coloff Media and 1650 The Fan lost our colleague, friend and co-worker, Bob Foster.
Foster passed away peacefully Tuesday night at 6:45pm at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, after a long and ferocious battle with Leukemia. Bob had won the battle many times, and kept coming back to his beloved listeners and radio family on many occasions in spite of the great odds that were against him.
Foster was not only a fighter, but he was deeply passionate about radio, his fans, and doing what was right. He insisted that we all do “good show” and wouldn’t tolerate anything less. He challenged us and made us all better broadcasters and better people.
“I have great admiration and respect for him, and I am without a doubt a better person and better broadcaster because of Bob Foster,” said Jim Coloff, Owner/General Manager, KCNZ 1650 The Fan. “Bob was a perfectionist, and insisted that everyone on the team raise the bar in order to win. In fact, he taught us all how to be better winners.”
“He loved his listeners and it is even more evident today that they loved him,” said Coloff. “The outpouring of love and respect for Bob on our Facebook page has been tremendous, and shows just how well Bob connected with people.”
